Silicon Carbide SIC

Silicon Carbide is characterized by high mechanical properties (hardness, modulus of elongation), that predetermine increased working capacity of materials on its base. The combination of high thermal conductivity and low coefficient if thermal expansion identify the good resistance of silicon carbide under the high speed of heating in the conditions of stationary mode.

Depending on production technology silicone Carbide is divided on:

  1. Reactional sintered silicon carbide (SIC/Q2) - that is made by the process of packing and stiffening, in other words – under the influence of high temperatures – sponge forging made of silicone carbide and hydrocarbon blend compound is infused by liquid reagent of hot melt silicon with creation of secondary silicon carbide, that join primary components into close texture.
  2. Hot pressed sintered silicon carbide (SSIC/Q1) is made by pregrinding of silicon with graphite and pressings agglomerations in argon during 15 min. Then silicon carbide material with pore dimension 0.2 mcm. would be received.  Solid Silicon Carbide (SSIC) is its protype, but agglomerated without pressing and it is the most suitable for concentrated alkalize-acids medium.
